The device receives the dose directly from the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) once the animal has been scanned, then fills the syringe more accurately than can be done by hand and without the possibility of error. This tool greatly speeds up the dosing process by partially filling the syringe while drawing the next animal, allowing two things to be done at the same time. Most importantly, the RDP does all the work of syringe withdrawal, reducing fatigue and the possibility of thumb injury. The RDP unit does not come with an agitation plate as shown in the photos and video.
