Owners Luigi Bianchi and Roberto Binda come to establish their company after a long experience in a leading industry in Medical, Pharmacological and Pre-Clinical Research.
After a two-year period of market assessment, 2B took on the connotations of the company it still is today and shortly thereafter moved to its new headquarters on L. da Vinci Street, also in Besozzo.
The early 1990s are still those of preclinical research carried out with classical instruments (baths for isolated organs, polygraphs for ECG analysis, pressures, etc.) writing on ink or thermal paper.
In the late 1990s, when 2B hit the market, computers were rapidly revolutionizing the world and disrupting the way research was done.
To give an idea of the magnitude of the change, just think of the method for calculating the integral of a curve:
In the old days, people used to cut out the waveform from polygraph paper (paper that obviously had to have very specific and known properties) and weighed it on a precision balance.
With the advent of technology and new software, suddenly a simple click is all it takes to process complex functions and calculations, drastically reducing processing time.
2Biological Instruments sees this as an opportunity to be seized as soon as possible and became a leader in the distribution of the new digital polygraphs by partnering with ADInstruments and the Power Lab tool with Chart software.
Years went by and the number of collaborations and nationwide exclusive contracts with various companies around the world (Instech, FST, Braintree, WPI and many others) multiplied.
In a short time, 2B became the leading company in the Italian market for gas anesthesia in the world of preclinical research.
In recent years, with the consolidation of the partnership with RWD, 2B began to explore a brand new field with innovative and unparalleled tools and software: we are talking about Optogenetics and Fiber Photometry.
Engaging in these new areas requires increasing technical knowledge, and with this awareness, 2B is expanding its staff by hiring young engineers.
The year 2023 concludes with the inauguration of the collaboration with PLEXX and numerous projects of corporate renewal and engagement in the most recently developed research areas.
2B, strengthened by a well-established tradition of mutual support and exchange with the many researchers who have chosen and continue to support it, looks confidently to the future, full of expectation and enthusiasm, confident that it can continue the work done so far in the best possible way, committing itself to upholding a company policy in accordance with the latest ethical procedures.
