Description
When used on a tablet or touch-screen, EVF5 software allows operators to view the video stream in real time without having to bend over. In addition, it integrates all the additional features that might be required during such a test:
– Management of animal lists – Real-time curve display: displaying force over time helps operators improve the performance and repeatability of measurements. – A table that allows each measurement to be assigned to the corresponding paw by clicking directly on the touch screen. – A replay function for both videos and force curves, allowing operators to delete invalid measurements. – Export results to an Excel.readsheet spreadsheet. The operator creates a new experiment on the dedicated software and configures the list of animals and the different legs they wish to stimulate (usually the hind legs). The test is then started by taking the stimulator handle and looking at the target areas under the animal’s paw directly through the video stream on the touchscreen tablet, without having to bend down to look under the plantar surface. Stimulation is usually applied to the rodent’s hind legs. The withdrawal of the paw after mechanical stimulation is recorded as a response to the stimulus. During the measurement, the operator can observe in real time and then adjust the intensity of the applied force. The maximum force applied with the instrument, which corresponds to the value required for paw withdrawal, is saved in the system. The operator can then decide to validate the measured value with a simple click on the touchscreen or to relaunch the measurement with a new stimulus. Different models of STANDs are available with NET floor and different containers for rats and mice.
