Tail Vein Cannulas for Rats

Tail vein (rat) cannulas, made by Instech, feature a sharp 25 g stainless steel needle (0.5 mm OD) with a tube-like extension. They are inserted directly into the tail vein of an immobilized rat for manual blood sampling or dosing. Since this is a pointed needle, it is not designed to be taped down for a prolonged period. Access to the cannula is through a PinPort™ (included) to create a closed, low dead volume system that closes when the syringe is removed.
