Vascular Access Button™ for Rats – 1 channel
( 0 out of 5 )
0,00 €
This transcutaneous button has an external port for quick, clean and repeatable access to the catheter implanted in the rat. Applications include bolus or continuous dosing, blood sampling, and intravenous self-administration. For intermittent access, a syringe equipped with a needleless PinPort™ injector is used; for continuous access from outside the cage, a mating lace is inserted. The design, updated in 2017, uses magnets for a low-stress connection and smaller PinPorts™ so that catheters, injectors, and caps are compatible with two-channel buttons. They are available with 22ga connectors for mating with 3Fr polyurethane rat catheters, 25ga for 2Fr catheters, or 27ga for intrathecal catheters. The protective aluminum cap allows grouping of animals, an animal welfare benefit that has never been available for rats with externalized catheters. NOTE:
These VABs are not compatible with MRI because of the magnets. For MRI-compatible VABs please refer to: VAB95BS-MRI (with twist-in connection and Nitinol connector) .
