Vascular Access Button™ for Mice – 1 channel

The VAB™ for mice is a transcutaneous port that provides rapid, aseptic access to a catheterized vessel with a syringe for intermittent access or with a ligature for continuous access. Applications include infusion, blood draw, and intravenous self-administration. There is a choice of three different types of discs that hold the button in place under the skin:

• 14 mm polyester felt (VABM1B)-this is the standard configuration; the fabric will grow into the felt over time, securing it in place.
• 10 mm polyester felt (VABM1VB) – smaller felt for smaller etching or smaller mice.
• 14 mm silicone mesh (VABM1BSM) – preferred by Jackson Laboratory with its wide range of strains, some of which do not tolerate felt.

The catheter connectors are subcutaneous, under the felt:

• 25ga (standard) – for 2Fr polyurethane, including jugular vein and carotid artery catheters
• 22ga – for polyurethane 3Fr
